WOODFORD – RANGE & FARM SAFETY

Members are referred to Standing Orders which are posted in the club unit at Woodford.
Only air rifles and pistols below the legal limit of 12 and 6 foot pounds and not requiring a firearms certificate may be used
Members under the age of 18 must be supervised by someone over the age of 21 years and may not purchase air guns or ammunition. A range Officer is on duty at each shoot. He/she will be wearing or have nearby a yellow jacket - please follow all instructions.

 

GOLDEN RULES

Treat all guns as if they were loaded
 
Obey the law & range officers
 
Do not point a gun at any person or animal
 
Keep guns in their cases until in use
 
Keep guns unloaded until ready to shoot on the firing point
 
Keep muzzles pointed down range & actions open when targets are being changed - DO NOT HANDLE
 
Do not handle guns if someone is forward of the firing point
 
Keep guns & ammunition away from unauthorised persons

 

ON THE FARM

Drive slowly at all times and be aware of children, horses and farm machinery.
 
Park sensibly and do not block entrances or other users.
 
Upon arrival book in and sign the range register and it is courteous to let us know when you are leaving.
 
Shooting must end by the designated time.
 
Only fully paid up members and their guests (who have signed a Section 21 Declaration) may shoot.
